For HR, leadership, and operations teams

What Gets Measured, Gets Done

DEIA work that cannot be measured cannot be defended. This keynote fixes that.

Most organizations can tell you they are committed to diversity and inclusion. Far fewer can tell you what the work is producing. This keynote changes that, with a clear measurement framework and the language to use it in front of any leadership audience. This talk was crafted based on the content in my book, Birds of All Feathers.

If you’d like to build on this topic beyond the keynote, you can learn more about how I work with organizations on consulting engagements.

Overview

Representation is not the same as inclusion. And neither is the same as return on investment.

Many organizations can declare their commitment to DEIA. Fewer can answer the question that follows: what is it actually producing? The gap between the declaration and the data is where the work either earns its place or loses it.

Drawing on practice with Fortune 100 companies and global non-profits, I lay out a measurement framework that goes well beyond demographic dashboards. The session separates representation from inclusion, and inclusion from return on investment, and gives leaders a clear language for each.

Audiences leave knowing what to count, what to listen for, and which numbers actually track to the outcomes their organization cares about.
